From First Call to Delivery Day
This is the path for a home we build from scratch to your spec. (If you'd rather buy a ready-built home off the lot, skip straight to checkout, this process is for everything custom.) Every custom build follows the same five stages. Here's exactly what happens at each one, and roughly how long it takes.
Consultation and Design
We start with a free online consultation, reviewing your site, your local zoning rules, your budget, and which product (or custom design) fits best. Once you're ready, we finalize the floor plan and sign the build contract together, and we place orders for any long-lead materials like windows and the trailer chassis. We also do physical consultation but it is paid for and the pricing depends on your distance and town or state.
Framing
The floor, walls, and roof trusses go up in our shop. This is the stage where the shape of your home becomes obvious for the first time, and where we double-check every dimension against your signed plan before anything gets closed in.
Envelope and Rough-Ins
House wrap, windows, siding, and roofing go on, and we run rough electrical and plumbing before the walls close up. This is also when we do a mid-build walkthrough with you, if you're local enough to visit the shop.
Interior Finishing
Insulation, wall finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures all go in during this stage. Appliances are installed and tested individually as they're placed, rather than all at once at the end.
Punch List and Systems Test
Every outlet, fixture, and appliance is run under load before we call the home done. We walk our own checklist stage by stage rather than relying on a single final inspection.
Delivery and Walkthrough
We deliver your home, set it up on-site, and walk you through every system in person, and hand over the owner's manual so you know exactly how things work going forward.
Financing options
We don't lend directly, but we work with lenders who write loans specifically for tiny homes, whether that's an RV-chattel loan for a home on wheels, or a construction loan for a foundation build. We'll walk through both at your consultation, alongside a full written quote before anything is signed.
